Computer vision is allowing retailers to supercharge their retail analytics operations. The data collected from cameras in stores can be used in a variety of ways to monitor store performance and increase in-store performance. In this blog post, we will be exploring several ways that our solution can be utilized to enhance retail analytics.
Aura Vision can be used for monitoring long-term company strategies by analyzing and bench-marking a wide range of critical trend-based data. In the screenshot below we are looking at the relationship between footfall and conversion across all store locations over the course of two consecutive quarters to evaluate whether or not the company should use footfall data (demand) instead of transaction data to schedule staff rota and schedule employees.
Our Computer Vision AI can be used to monitor, measure, and manage processes or operations within a shorter or more immediate time scale, including real-time.
In the screenshot below we are using heatmaps to visualize the total dwell time across the store to ensure cleaning resources are efficiently allocated.
From an analytical point of view, our solution can be used to gather large streams of comprehensive data that allow analysts to drill down and extract insights to help the company to progress at an executive level. In the screenshot below we are visualizing product engagement times down to 15-minute intervals throughout the day, to understand the relationship between dwell time within certain parts of the store and conversion.
Once larger streams of data have been compiled, we can configure information-rich dashboards that are suited to mid-management and help in formulating growth strategies based on trends, strengths, and weaknesses across departments. In the screenshot below we are comparing product engagement of Apple and Samsung products, around key launch dates to analyze the impact on conversion rate.
